Gratefulness is a word that is not normally apart of everyday language in our society. Often times our focus is on getting more of what we have or maintaining it.
The consumption is so great that we are sometimes blinded to the fact that we should be grateful 365 days a year and not just during the holiday season.
Let's be conduits that allow love, peace, and joy to flow in and through us this season and every season, rather than reservoirs that harbor the everyday blessings of life.
To give is to receive and to be grateful is to build and ensure a continuous cycle of a fulfilled life.

Normally I would take a moment to introduce us all to a woman that has accomplished plenty and can be an encouragement to us all. Today the spotlight is you and I; we are the woman that shall serve as our upliftment. Being a woman of color is not an easy task on any day; we overcome many challenges in every area or our lives in order to keep moving.
Self image, past hurt, pursuit of dreams, raising families, uplifting community, standing by our brothers & sisters, and often times having to encourage ourselves are just some of the tasks of our everyday lives.
Sistahs take a moment to love on yourselves and realize your own greatness.
We may not have everything we want just yet, and we may not have achieved all or our goals…yet we are still here and striving. Life can be overwhelming and some of us have been battered and bruised in our time, yet we still will to love, learn, and seek out the truths we need to bless our world.
I do not know many of you personally, but if you are reading this know there is a greatness that dwells deep in you, a story that has yet to be told, and a cause that is being realized.
My challenge to everyone going into 2010 is that we as woman continue, in a greater measure, to seize our day and love ourselves in a beautiful way…we are unique and worthy of love and this spotlight.
This is what I have had to learn and the beginning of my own story. Of course we shall continue giving honor to the women that have paved our way…but this day I want to honor the bricks you have laid and the one you will lay. Sometimes all we need to get back up is knowing that someone acknowledges that we are here and trying to achieve.
Hopefully you can offer a sistah you know the same encouragement I hope this will offer you.
May your year be great and may your story continue to be written so that it may take its place in great legacy of strong women that we honor and remember.
Know you are strong…Celebrate your journey.
Peace & Balance,
